Nasal breathing is extremely important. Even from a dental point of view. A lot of dental malocclusions, crowding of teeth and orthodontic issues can be avoided by breathing through the nose. If your child breathes through their mouth, then get to the bottom of it and treat it.

    • Haleh Banani

Ayesha Kadwa Thank you for your supportive message. It’s amazing how sleep improves with nasal breathing.

By default only deviations from our normal habits can lead us to be sluggish. Even small attempts like you mentioned dear sister Haleh, can make us active and even proactive. Our body is that much of a powerful thing Allah has designed. We should all learn to trust our body and apply small efforts until they become big ones with time and the results are incredible inshaAllah. Taking care of body and mind is worship Alhamdulillah. 🙂

  23. Yagana Shah

This isn’t the best advice for everybody to be honest— regarding low carb. Diets like keto and Atkins which promote very high protein intake have been shown to have damaging effects on kidneys and other organs. Also if you read about longevity and the worlds blue zones— many of these centenarians actually have a diet lower in protein. Just food for thought

    • Haleh Banani

Yagana Shah I did suggest for each person to consult their doctor. You’re right it’s not for everyone, but many people do benefit from it. I don’t know if the goal is really to live to be a hundred, but there are definitely different perspectives with valid research on both sides.

      • Selcan Ercilasun

Yagana Shah I agree. Not about the protein because first of all keto isn’t high protein, it is high fat. Also most people don’t get enough protein, be it animal source or not. I do agree that keto isn’t a great diet. It might work for some, but there are more manageable ways. There is a lot of conflicting information out there about nutrition and most of it is not scientifically backed. I think it is best to find a nutritionist who is on top of her research without an agenda. I am working with such a nutritionist, Alhamdulillah. She has really helped me sift through all the nutrition information out there.
