Summary by Staff Writer
When you live a life full of purpose, you wake up in the morning feeling excited to meet the day. You have a sense of mission, there’s something that you want to do to add value to the lives of others. It’s so critical to figure out your sense of purpose. When you have that drive, when you know that you are living each day and you have people that are counting on you, then there is a sense of mission that you have in life.
Without this purpose you might feel empty inside. You may feel an emptiness that you can’t fill, nothing you try makes you happy. You can try getting more and more possessions or going on a great vacation or having certain friends, but all of these things will still leave you with a sense of emptiness.
Until you are able to find what your true sense of purpose is, you’re going to feel empty all the time. You’ll experience sadness and anxiety, you won’t know what to do with yourself and, regardless of who you’re surrounded by or what you’re doing, there will always be an aching feeling inside that you’re not really making a difference in the world.
It’s important that you take time to reflect on what your purpose is. A lot of times, people don’t take the time to reflect on their purpose. They spend time reflecting on what type of degree they want to get or what career they want to pursue but don’t reflect at all about what they are contributing to the world. What kind of legacy are you leaving behind?
Once you know your purpose, how you wake up in the morning, how you interact with people, what you do throughout the day, all that will change. Knowing what your purpose is in life will improve the quality of your life and it will improve the quality of your relationships.
Every week I do a live session for the Mindful Hearts group. There we have a beautiful sisterhood where we talk about issues such as the benefits of knowing your life purpose, how that affects your life and how it affects both your spiritual and psychological purpose too. Join us at mindfulhearts.com and become part of a beautiful sisterhood where women let down their guard, share and support one another.
