My father always played a very important role in my life. Always encouraging us to do our best. The best part was seeing him help my mom with the house chores after coming back from work. I have learnt to be disciplined and hardworking from him. He is a source of positivity . May Allah give him good health and happiness in this old age.

A father needs to be more than just be a provider for the family. He sets the family’s moral compass, and models to his own sons what’s expected of them as future adults and future husbands and serves as a model to his own daughters of what they should rightfully expect from a future husband. A man who thinks paying the bills is enough will fail miserably as a husband and as a father. In one of my country’s major languages, one of the terms for father is “the pillar/post of the house” (while a corresponding term for mother is “light of the home”).
